Confidence Building Hypnotherapy for Women
If you’ve been following my blog, you might already know that from time to time, I like to write about some trusted local businesses that I think would benefit my readers - mainly new mums in the Glasgow area (or indeed mums-to-be in the later stages of their pregnancy!)
As a newborn photographer, I wear many hats so to speak... I’m the listener, detail planner, image/scene creator, moment capturer, editor, content writer, administrator, and believe it or not - somewhat of a therapist too at times! Becoming a mum can be a wonderful time, but can also be filled with many new challenges (and the rapidly changing hormones don’t make it any easier)! Despite my background in psychology, I am definitely not qualified to help women through the tougher times in any meaningful way (although I can always lend a listening ear), but that’s why I want to introduce you to the lovely Katy from Born Ready Hypnotherapy!
Katy is a qualified hypnotherapist and she uses her skills to empower women to find a renewed, deep rooted sense of confidence and ultimately become the best versions of themselves. Katy insists that no problem is ever too small, and there is never any shame in seeking help for whatever is holding you back. She’s a very genuine, kind, non-judgemental person and I think we can all agree that is so important when choosing someone to share our innermost thoughts with.
Katy works with women at all stages of life and with many different reasons for seeking help with their confidence, not just pregnancy and motherhood. However, for the purpose of this blog post, where most of the readers are new or expectant mums, that’s where my focus will be.
Over the years I have spent working with women going through this particular phase of life, I’ve learned that there are some difficulties which affect so many of us, yet they are not often talked about. If you can relate to the following, you're not alone:
Maybe it has been such a long and difficult journey to motherhood for you, and this has knocked your confidence in other areas of your life too;
Perhaps you find it hard to love your post-partum body and there’s so much societal pressure to ‘bounce back’;
Maybe you feel like you’ve lost a little bit of yourself and you miss aspects of who you were before you became a mum;
It could be that you are navigating motherhood for the first time and you have a tendency to compare yourself to other mums and worry about what everyone else thinks;
Or, you’re now a second time mum so it’s a real struggle to keep your balance with a toddler as well as a newborn, and you criticise yourself for not being the ‘perfect’ mum all the time;
Perhaps your partner is going back to work and you’re anxious about coping with the baby on your own;
Or maybe you’re dreading returning to work yourself after maternity leave and you could use some help to build your confidence back up to where it was before you left.
It might be something entirely different! And again, no problem is too small. These situations can leave us feeling like we’re failing somehow, and that’s not the case at all – often we just need a little help to understand WHY we feel the way we do, and to do something about it.
Is there anything going on in your life that is preventing you from confidently moving forward?
How would it feel to let go of the self-doubt and see that you are MORE than enough?
